Pastor Diane's Sabbatical -- June 29 - August 24

As Pastor Diane prepares to take her well-deserved sabbatical this summer, Council Tree will be hiring a Summer Kid Ministry Leader. While there are very few people in the world who could take Pastor Diane's place, the hope is that the Summer Kid Ministry Leader will be able to keep things running smoothly in her absence. You can find the job description and instructions to apply here. Please help spread the word and pray for the right person to step forward in the role.

Additionally, in order to ensure that our kids are cared for well in Pastor Diane's absence, we will also need some new volunteers to step up to love on our kids this summer. If you are available to serve once a month with our kids, or even occasionally, please reach out to Pastor Diane to see where you might fit in.

Men's Fellowship - Tuesday Mornings @6:30am

I have led the Tuesday morning men’s fellowship for over 30 years. Since then, we have met every Tuesday, enjoying conversation, prayer and breakfast. It’s been a been a great way for men to connect and do life together. Come and check it out.

We are starting a book study: If You Want to Walk on Water, You've Got to Get Out of the Boat. “Deep within you lies the same faith and longing that sent Peter walking across the wind-swept Sea of Galilee toward Jesus. In what ways is the Lord telling you, as he did Peter, ‘Come’? Author John Ortberg pushes you to take the last step that separates you from the adventure of your life."

We meet for breakfast Tuesdays 6:30- 8:00 AM at the church. If you don’t prefer breakfast, join us for juice and coffee. Questions: Peter Way 970-219-1301.

Saturday Seminars

Church, we have the incredible opportunity to partner with North Park Theological Seminary by inviting their faculty and staff to come to Council Tree to preach and teach. The lifelong learning workshops are a way we can explore how the local church and the seminary can walk together in deep, meaningful partnership. This is more than just teaching; it’s about modeling how academic insight and community faith can intersect to deepen our walk with Christ.

We hope that you will put these dates on your calendar and join us for these incredible opportunities to engage with NPTS faculty and staff. Questions? Reach out to Don Boxley.

Faith Family Hospitality - May 10-17

We are again hosting homeless families at Council Tree.

We are thankful for your willingness to serve in the past and invite you to join us again. Our rotation begins Sunday May 10th  through Sunday May 17th. If you can help out please click here to sign-up.

Story Time with Frances - April 26-May 7 @9am

Have you ever read a Christian book to your child or grandchild and marveled at the depth of theology contained in the story?  Have you ever read a Christian kid's book and wondered about some of the implications of what the author was conveying?  For the next four weeks (April 26 - May 17th), the Christian Formation Class will be led by Frances Way as she reads through some powerful Christian kids' books and leads a discussion regarding the author's message.  All ages are welcome (including kids), so please join us in the chapel at 9am to dive deeper into the powerful theology of some of our favorite Christian kids' books.

Join us Monday Nights @7:15pm

A group of individuals who love Council Tree and want to lift her up in prayer are gathering on Monday evenings in the Prayer Room. We would love to have you join us in praying during this time of transition.  If you have questions, reach out to Anna Lachelt.

Stories from the Gardener

Hello Council Tree family.

Spring is in full swing, and despite the warm winter and lack of any significant amount of moisture, the garden is growing. And since water is on all our minds these days, I’ll say a few words about it. It’s going to be an interesting year to say the least. We are facing both drought and water restrictions, and though things are looking grim, I’m excited for what God has in store for us. Here in northern Colorado, March, April, and May dump more water on the ground than all the rest of the year combined. So far we’ve had practically none. But there’s good news- we are converting much of our garden to drought tolerant native plants- and bad news- those plants need water the first year to help them get established in their new home. And good news- God is the God of wind and weather, drought and rain, and we shall, with prayer and careful consideration, do the best we can with what He’s given us. With that said, the garden is changing day by day. We’ve got some keystone native plants in the ground already. Chokecherry and Buffalo berry, Sumac and Sagebrush, Currant and Elderberry, Apache Plume, Rabbitbrush and Yucca. Plants that will create habitat for others. We’ve got veggies started in the grow room, and our Strawberries and Raspberries are coming along nicely. We’ve got some new landscape features coming soon, including a dry creek bed, some meandering pathways and a pergola. So come on out and see what’s going on, or help out if you’re so inclined. A recent survey of garden volunteers has almost unanimously agreed that working in a garden is good for mind, body and soul. So if you need some healing in your life, I know just the place for you. And it’s much cheaper than therapy, I can assure you. You need bring nothing more than your willingness to help and learn, and maybe a water bottle, and see what working in God’s creation can do. And may the Peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always.

Volunteer Opportunities

From the beginning of creation, God established holy rhythms of life and service for those who follow in God’s path. We each have personal seasons of rest and restoration, and of new life and service. Council Tree encourages spiritual wondering alongside the Holy Spirit to discern what spiritual season you may be in.

If you find yourself in a place where you have margin to serve, we could definitely use your gifts! If you feel God is calling you to explore serving, we would encourage you to start an exploratory conversation with a team lead to find out more.
